News from The Gather!

The Ennerdale Centre

We have been open for nearly 5 months and the Barista coffee machine continues to gurgle and steam to produce delicious coffee daily!  Our multi coloured individual tea pots pepper the tables with each customers choice of loose leaf tea – from English Breakfast to Roisbos and Green tea to Lemon and Ginger and many more.  Our volunteer bakers can hardly keep up with demand for Victoria Sandwich, Millionaire’s shortbread, flapjacks, scones and more.  Our panini machine is hot and our soup makers continue to chop and stir up delicious gluten and diary free soups.

Our gift range is expanding at a pace with more and more locally created art and gifts, plus local produce – from jams and honey to locally grown vegetables (when available).

On Sunday 2nd October we will be launching our Afternoon Tea selection – Cream tea, sandwiches, cakes and cookies with a hot drink – £9.95 per head.  Please book in advance.  Bring some friends and book a table – 01946 862453.

To celebrate our first Afternoon Tea Event, Gareth Kemble, from our tea and coffee supplier, Carvetii, is giving a talk on speciality teas and their origins.

Our newly-launched exercise classes are going very well.

Eni’s Mind, Body Movement from 11.30-12.30 on Saturdays got off to a flying start last weekend.  There will be two more classes before she goes on holiday – 17th and 24th September.  On her return in mid October, Eni will resume the weekly classes.  You can reserve a place here: and pay on the day.

Tricia Nicholson’s taster for The Living Tao Tai Chi class was such a success that we now have a weekly Tai Chi class on Tuesday’s, 1 – 3.00pm.  There are only a couple of places left.  Please email if you are interested to join the class.

We will be joining thousands of others across the UK with our own Macmillan Coffee Morning.   Please bring your cake entries at 9.30am as they will be judged at 10am and then sold to raise money for Macmillan.

Please feel free to call The Gather if you would like any further information: 01946 862 453.
